Claycraft Studio publishes step-by-step craft tutorials, tool reviews and beginner guides for people who want to make things with their own hands. This page explains how that content is produced, checked and corrected.
How we build a tutorial
Every project we publish is worked through by hand before it goes live. We photograph the intermediate stages, not just the finished piece, because that is where most beginner tutorials fall down. If a step needs a specific tool or material we have not already covered, we add a sourcing note.
What we test
Tools and materials are used across at least three separate projects before we recommend them. We buy them ourselves. Where a cheaper alternative does the same job, we say so — a tutorial that only works with expensive equipment is not a beginner tutorial.
Who writes
Sarah Connelly writes and reviews most of what appears here, alongside a small group of makers who contribute projects in their own specialisms. Guest contributions are edited to match the house style before publication and credited at the top of the article.
Corrections
Crafts are practical, and practical instructions can be wrong. If a step does not work for you, or a measurement is off, write to us at contact@claycraft-studio.com with the article link. We re-test and correct the page, and we note the change at the bottom of the article rather than quietly rewriting it.
What we do not publish
No sponsored tutorials disguised as editorial. No affiliate links to materials we have not used. If an article contains affiliate links, it says so at the top.
